Blackberry Bramble - Fenton
Found only in compotes, Blackberry Bramble resembles a couple of other berry compotes, specifically Northwood's Blackberry or Raspberry. Make sure you're not buying this one when looking for the others. Blackberry Bramble has a plain exterior and round stem while Blackberry or Raspberry has Northwood's basketweave exterior and a hexagonal stem. This compote is found in amethyst, blue, green, lavender, marigold and olive.
Compote Vase | |
This doesn't seem to be either a compote or a vase but collectors know it by this name. They are five to six inches tall. Some come with a rib pattern only on the interior while others have a plain interior. They're usually attributed to Fenton.
Colors include amber, amethyst, green, lime green and marigold. |

Fine Cut Flower - Fenton
At one time this pattern was attributed to Imperial, but an advertisment in a 1908-09 Butler Brothers catalog shows it among Fenton pieces.
Known only in the compote shape pictured above. Found mostly in marigold and occasionally in green. |
Scotch Thistle - Fenton |
A not-too-frequently-seen pattern, Scotch Thistle has thistles and foliage on the interior with a plain exterior. One wonders if this compote wasn't intended to be part of Fenton's other Thistle line.
Colors found include amethyst, blue, green and marigold. |

Stream of Hearts - Fenton
Stream of Hearts (sometimes called Streaming Hearts) is closely related to Fenton's Heart and Vine and Hearts and Trees patterns. All have the same type of heart-shaped leaf design. The ruffled compote, found only in marigold, has Fenton's Persian Medallion on the exterior.
A rare unruffled goblet shape is also known in marigold. |
