Open Rose - Imperial | |
This is actually the same pattern as Imperial's Lustre Rose, though collectors have traditionally referred to collar based bowls and plates as Open Rose. So following this simple rule; if it's collar based, it's Open Rose, everything else is Lustre Rose. Imperial and several succeeding glassmakers reproduced this pattern. Colors found in Open Rose include amber, aqua, clambroth, a rare blue, green, Helios, lavender, marigold, purple and smoke.
Above to the left is a 9-inch plate in purple. The small ruffled berry in blue, on the right, sold at the 2012 Heart of America Carnival Glass convention auction. Photo courtesy of Seeck Auctions. |
