Leaf Chain - Fenton
This is the same chain motif as Fenton's Cherry Chain, but instead has leaves in place of the cherries in the five bunches around the outer edge and the one in the center. The pattern was made with two different molds; one for the standard sized plates and bowls and one for the medium sized plates and bowls. To the left are 9 and 7 1/2 inch Leaf Chain plates in white. The rare example above to the right is a 9-inch ruffled bowl in aqua opal.

Medium sized bowls are about 7 inches across and can be ice cream shaped, round or six ruffled. Medium sized plates are about 7 to 8 inches across. Medium bowls and plates have the Berry and Leaf Circles exterior.

Standard bowls are about 8 to 9 inches across and can be ice cream shaped, round or six or eight ruffled. Standard plates are about 9 inches across. Large bowls and plates have the Bearded Berry back.

These bowls and plates are predominantly found in blue, green, marigold and white, but other colors are known such as amethyst, clambroth, ice green and yellow. Medium sized bowls are found in additional colors, most notably, red and vaseline.

These photos show the two exterior patterns Fenton used on the backs of their Leaf Chain pieces. To the left is Berry and Leaf Circles found on the smaller 7 inch pieces and to the right is the Bearded Berry pattern found on the backs of the larger 9 inch pieces.
