A typically elaborate Dugan pattern characterized by abstract floral themes including heart shaped leaves (or strawberries, as some people refer to them). Blue is rare in bowls but fairly common in plates. Some ruffled bowls are so low that they are often referred to as low ruffled plates such as the one in purple with blue iridescence, above left. Above right is an amethyst plate with the outer edge curved upwards ever so slightly. Fanciful shares the Reedy Basketweave back pattern with Apple Blossom Twigs and Roundup. Found in 8 1/2 to 9 inch bowls and 9 inch plates in amethyst, blue, lavender, marigold, peach opal and white. |
