Imperial reissued its water set pieces in red (limited edition of 300), cobalt (Aurora Jewels), white, ice blue, ice green, and a color called verde green (limited edition of 300 for the Glass House - See below). White is the most often seen. Purple pieces are probably later reproductions as Imperial did not make these in purple.
The red sets may have a pitcher made by L.E. Smith and thus marked with an "S" and tumblers marked "IG" for Imperial. This was because the Imperial workers went on strike and only made the tumblers. To fill the order, Imperial had L.E. Smith complete the work. The mugs were made in red and pink. In 1967, the red mug was used as the American Carnival Glass Association's first souvenir. |
