Four Pillars - Northwood/Millersburg
A classic design but still confused with other patterns because of its simplicity. Northwood made Four Pillars in two base sizes: a standard size with a 3 1/8 inch base, and a small size with a 2 7/8 inch base. Heights can vary depending on how much the vase was swung. There is a third size of Four Pillars with a 3 1/4 inch base which is a standard size but from an entirely different mold and believed to be Millersburg, including those with Howard Furniture advertising in the base.

The Northwood vases come in a wide range of colors including aqua opal, blue, green, ice green opal, lime green opal, marigold, marigold on custard, russet and sapphire blue. Aqua opal is the most frequently found followed by russet and blue. The Millersburg vases are found in amethyst, green and marigold.

The example at the left is in a Kelly green, a unique color. In the center are the larger Northwood size in sapphire and the smaller Northwood size in marigold. To the right is an unusually short blue example; just 6 3/4 inches tall.
