| Captive Rose imitates embroidery stitching. It is sometimes confused with other patterns such as Northwood's Embroidered Mums. In this pattern, there are 10 roses around the outside of the bowls and plates and a central rose. Unlike most patterns, the most common shape here is the plate. Above are a handsome plate in a deep redish marigold and a candy ribbon edge (CRE) bowl in green. Also found in two-handled bonbons and compotes shown below. Colors found include amethyst, blue, green, lavender, marigold and white. |
