Bicentennial items - L. E. Smith
These items were made by L. E. Smith GLass Co. in celebration of the U.S. Bicentennial in 1976. Five items were made in all. They are found iridized in this "Independence Blue" and white. Non-iridized pieces may be found in amberina, green, milk glass and a light blue.

The items are from left to right:
Covered candy dish - 6 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches across the top rim.
Covered stemmed compote - 8 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches across the top rim.
Single handled nappy (front) - 5 1/4 inches across the bowl (not including the handle).
Covered 8 1/2 inches tall compote made from a goblet.

The second photo shows a 12-inch tall oil lamp.

Two covered pieces have oblong shaped bowls, while the nappy and the taller goblet compote have a round bowl. All pieces have an american eagle on both the front and the back. Stars fill the background and cover the lids.

All are marked with the Smith "S".
